Town of Sibley appoints Chanler

Helen Chanler was appointed alderwoman for the Town of Sibley Tuesday night, filling the opening left by her late husband Doyle Chanler since his passing on November 25.

An election to fill the seat will be held November 6, 2018. Until then, Mayor Jimmy Williams said Chanler will be up to the task.

“I am very happy the council chose Mrs. Helen,” he said. “She is one of the finest ladies you will ever find. She will bring the same honor to the position that Doyle did.”
