Forgery leads to arrest

A Sarepta woman was arrested Thursday for reportedly stealing a check from a 69-year-old man and forging his signature.

Upon arrival in response to a call, officer Ray Reeves was presented evidence that Shirley Rasberry, 45, had taken a check from Roger Godwin and forged his signature on a temporary check.

In addition, Officer Reeves discovered that Rasberry already had two active warrants through Webster Parish.

Rasberry, of the 300 block of Morgan road in Sarepta, was booked in the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on a total of five charges, including theft, forgery, and driving under suspension.
