Pennies for Peace

The theme for Glenbrook School is gratitude so at Thanksgiving the students watched the video,” Pennies for Peace.” The video shared how children in other parts of the world do not have schools or school supplies. They decided that they would collect pennies until the beginning of December. They brought pennies each day, and on December 3, the pennies were counted. The students had collected $109.25. The students were asked to write why they thought collecting the pennies was a good idea. Here are two responses: “I think “Pennies for Peace” is important because it gives people in other countries a chance to learn, write, and even be happy. I love to see others happy.” “Pennies for Peace is special because every child should go to school and have nice school supplies.”
