Cotton Valley, LA — Funeral services for Mrs. Nelwyn Cecile Hammett, age 67, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Cotton Valley 1st United Pentecostal Church in Cotton Valley, LA with Rev. Kenneth DeHart officiating. Interment will follow in Cotton Valley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Mrs. Hammett was born on December 31, 1951 to Charles Leon and Johnnie Katherine Frasier Reeves in Minden, LA and passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019 in Minden, LA. She was a homemaker, enjoyed playing bingo, visiting with friends and family, and fishing.
Mrs. Hammett is survived by her son, Eric Hammett, Jr.; two daughters, Jean Ann Bryan and husband Nathen of Sibley, LA, Deborah Hammett of Cotton Valley, LA; two sisters, Katherine McGuyer of Wylie, TX, Diane Mangum and husband Floyd of Shreveport, LA; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hammett was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Eric Henry Hammett, Sr., her parents; brothers, Mike Reeves and Tommy Reeves; and sisters, Sharon Cord and Linda Smith.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Cavenar, Justice Lee, Seth Morgan, Todd Morgan, James Fantini, and Zack Coile.
