SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — A Louisiana man accused of emailing a death threat to a sheriff’s office has been arrested.
News outlets report Caddo Parish investigators found 12 unsecured guns Friday at the home of 49-year-old Hilliard Jenkins. A sheriff’s office news release says Jenkins threatened to kill Sheriff Steve Prator and any deputies who came to his Shreveport home.
The sheriff’s office says Jenkins lives with his 27-year-old son, Dillon Courtney Jenkins, who is a convicted felon prohibited from having access to firearms. The conditions of his probation include regular home visits from law enforcement.
The father has been charged with one count of terrorizing. The son has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
It’s unclear whether either man had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
