Can I say the weather is not my friend right now? It is hot! Just plain hot! I thought after all these years I would have gotten used to it, but no, I am not. There is a lot I need to get done and I am going to be honest I don’t want to do it in this heat.
I love working outside around the house but I am not going to do it right now. I was complaining about the rain and now I want it back. Maybe I just need to get up earlier and get started earlier and finish before it gets hot.
Another thing I am trying to get going, is to be more active. I need to join the gym, but I am afraid I will do like I did last time and sign up go for the first month and then pay not to go.
I used to love working out. Well, I use to have people that would do it with me. I can’t seem to find anyone around right now that will or can work out when I can.
I decided I would start walking at least. Well that lasted about a day. By the time I get home, I am either working on my business, having coaching training or cooking supper.
Don’t forget the laundry. Even without kids we have lots of laundry. After I get all that completed, I am done.
Ok, so here is where I need a mindset change. I have the healthy part down. I know what it takes and what to do to eat healthy. I would never go back to the way I used to eat.
Why is it so hard to get moving? Is it because of the heat? I think I am making a great excuse but I don’t think that is the reason. I need to find my “why” in this. I love playing hard whether it is softball, frisbee or some kind of game outside.
I can play in the heat when I am doing something that doesn’t feel like exercise. I have tried YouTube with ball exercises, dance videos, and yoga. Well, none of that has worked for me.
Here is where I am getting at in all of this. We all have struggles in life. Life is hard at times, and down right stinks, I am here to say.
I am living above the line and will continue to do so. It doesn’t mean I don’t struggle with a few things. It means I am a work in progress and I am working to overcome this one obstacle I have. Pray for me to get past this one thing. I have so much more I want to do but I need to get past this one obstacle first. I won’t let it defeat me.
Bacon Appetizer Crescents
Ingredients
8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
8 bacon slices, crisply cooked and crumbled
1/3 c. grated parmesan cheese
1/4 c. finely chopped onion (I used green onion)
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 tbsp. milk
2 8-oz. cans refrigerated quick crescent dinner rolls
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. cold water
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Beat cream cheese, bacon, parmesan cheese, onion, parsley and milk in small mixing bowl at medium speed with an electric mixer until well blended.
Separate dough into 8 rectangles; firmly press perforations together to seal. Spread each rectangle with 2 rounded measuring tablespoonfuls cream cheese mixture.
Cut each rectangle in half diagonally. Fold points over cream cheese mixture (I folded mine to look like envelope flaps, leaving the flat side open.)
Place on greased cookie sheet; brush with combined egg and water. Sprinkle with poppy seeds, if desired.
Bake 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve immediately.
