Tornadoes tear through Webster Parish

by Minden Press-Herald

Monday morning two tornadoes tore through an area of Webster Parish ten miles north of Minden near Highway 159. The tornadoes resulted in structural damage to the surrounding area, including homes, power lines, timber, but as of now, there are no reported injuries.

“We have two tornadoes. The area was at the cross-section of Angi Road and Highway 189. An individual witnessed the two come across, one coming and then the other behind it,” said Sheriff Gary Sexton.

“We have no injuries reported, but we have multiple structures totally destroyed, a lot of timber damage, a lot of power lines down, and numerous road closures. It’s a pretty big mess, but we’re gonna get it cleaned up.”
