Funeral services for Lucille F. Barnes will be held Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 2 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Keith Adcock, Rev. Jeff Ramsey, Rev. Gerald Trammel, Rev. Jimbo Yocom, and Rev. Michael Hudspeth officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019 at First United Pentecostal Church in Minden.
Mrs. Barnes was born September 27, 1920 in Plain Dealing, Louisiana and entered into rest December 26, 2019 in Minden, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. T.W. Barnes and daughter, Ruth Tanner.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Sam Tanner of Shreveport, grandson, Michael Gray and wife Shelley of Shreveport, granddaughters, Sharon Garris and husband David, Ginger Garris, and Lisa Edwards and husband Jeff all of Minden, great-grandchildren, Amie Langford, David Garris, II, J.P. Garris, Nicholas Nixon, Fisher Nixon, and Aaron Edwards, and great great-grandchild, Grayleigh Langford.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Langford, David Garris II, J.P. Garris, Nicholas Nixon, Fisher Nixon, and Aaron Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Potter, Gerald Martin, Jonathan Guthrie, Doug Potter and Brad Peevy.
The family extends a special thank you to all of Mrs. Barnes’ sitters; Jean Smith, Glenda Braswell, Lottie McEachern, Janice Allen, Frankie Robinson, Teresa DeLoach and St. Joseph Hospice nurses, Rhonda Shively and Britney Avery.
