Local police departments across the country will be taking part in the DEA’s nationwide Prescription Drug Takeback event. The purpose of this event is to give citizens the opportunity to get rid of expired or unneeded prescriptions.
Locally the Dixie Inn Police Department will be hosting their drug take back at the Dixie Inn Police Station located at 60 Shell Street.
“From 10-2 Saturday people can bring their unneeded or expired prescription or over the counter medicines and drugs and turn them in for proper disposal,” said Chief of the Dixie Inn Police Department James Edwards. For any questions or concerns about this event please call (318) 377-0238.
The Minden Police Department’s drug take back will take place at the Minden Walmart on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
