The Krewe of Artemis-Springhill was the recipient of a replacement for their deteriorating wooden outdoor crest. This new fade- and weather-resistant crest was presented to Artemis in honor of Founder Bert Harris by her son-in-law, Clayton, and her daughter, Angela Harris Brakeville. The Brakeville Family surprised Mrs. Harris with this amazing gift which she shared with her beloved Krewe at a recent Artemis party.
The original hand-painted wooden sign that this new one is replacing was created by Robert Corrales, a valued Artemis member, and has been hanging above the door of the Bice Street two-story Den since the building was purchased in 2009.
Pictured standing directly behind, holding the crest gift, are Angela Brakeville and Bert Harris. Surrounding them are several members of the Krewe of Artemis-Springhill.
The Krewe of Artemis is celebrating its Twentieth Year Anniversary this year. If you would like to have more information on this non-profit, you may call 318-847-4270.
