Minden falls to Airline in ‘Doc’ Edwards Invitational boys quarterfinals

The Minden Crimson Tide fell to Airline 48-32 in the boys quarterfinals of the ‘Doc’ Edwards Invitational Thursday at Airline.

The Tide scored only three points in the first quarter but only trailed by seven. Minden was still within striking distance at the half down 20-12.

The Vikings dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Tide 18-8.

Stafford Bailey led Minden with 11 points.

Tre’von Jackson and Colby O’Glee led Airline with 13 and 12 points, respectively. The Vikings went on to lose to Huntington 54-49 in the semifinals.

Minden (8-10) returns to action Jan. 10 against Loyola College Prep at home.

The Minden girls lost to Byrd 56-46 in the consolation quarterfinals.

The Lady Tiders (6-10) host Loyola on Jan. 10.
