During the February 6, 2023, board meeting, the Webster Parish School Board approved numerous expenditures to help maintain and improve campuses across Webster Parish.
Lakeside Jr/Sr High will be paying an invoice for $3,600 to Mechanical Cooling for a new HVAC compressor motor protection and related parts. Central Elementary will accept the proposal from Fitzgerald Plumbing of $12,600 for boring under the concrete drives to install 2-inch water lines to the existing fire sprinkler system on the stage. Both of these will be paid out of the Consolidated District 3 Maintenance Fund.
Using the Doyline Maintenance Fund, Doyline High will be paying an invoice from Mechanical Concepts in the amount of $2,525.60 for repairs to the HVAC system, and they will also be accepting a proposal of $4,870.93 from Mechanical Concepts for replacing the defective coil and evaporator core in the nurse’s station. Doyline High will also be purchasing field conditioner, sure dry, and mound clay from Minden Farm and Garden for $2,570. And Doyline High will be accepting a proposal of $5,500 from Lynch’s Lawn & Fence for a sidewalk and landing.
The District 6 ½ Cent Sales Tax Fund will be used to accept a proposal from Mechanical Cooling services in the amount of $122,800 for replacing all the HVAC front end controls on buildings A, B, C, and D at Webster Jr High.
North Webster Jr High will be accepting a proposal from Gentry & Holder Floors in the amount of $2,700 to screen and recoat the gym floor. North Webster Jr High will also be purchasing a 14’ x 28’ custom built portable building from Christ Built Construction for $28,950. This building will be used as a concession stand for the football complex. And JnJ Fencing will be paid $15,619.97 for reconstructing selected fencing at the Sarepta Sports Complex. These purchases will be paid out of the Sarepta Maintenance Fund.
North Webster Lower Elementary will be paying Southern Pipe $5,649.96 for replacing a 100-gallon hot water heater, using the Shongaloo Building Fund.
And in Springhill, the Springhill Maintenance Fund will be used to pay Mechanical Cooling $1,750 for replacing multiple bleeder valves on the HVAC water lines at North Webster High.
The Webster Parish School Board continually seeks to improve and maintain their campuses across the parish to give students excellent environments to learn in. School board meetings are open to the public. The next meeting will be held at the school board office on March 13, 2023, at 6 p.m.
