Excitement is building in the city of Minden as the 3rd Annual Pete Colvin Memorial Rodeo approaches. Set to take place on Friday and Saturday, August 4th and 5th, at the Jack Batton Arena, located at 415 Whitlock Street, this rodeo event promises two nights of exhilarating action and entertainment for all attendees.

The festivities will kick off at 8:00 PM each night, featuring a lineup of thrilling events that will keep spectators on the edge of their seats. Rodeo enthusiasts and families alike can look forward to witnessing the heart-pounding spectacles of Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, Calf Roping, Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, and Team Roping, showcasing the incredible skill and bravery of the participating cowboys and cowgirls.

In addition to the main events, young rodeo fans will have their own special moments to cherish. Children aged 6 and under can participate in the adorable and fan-favorite “Mutton Bustin'” competition, where they’ll hold onto sheep for dear life as they ride into the arena. For kids aged 12 and under, there’s also the calf scramble, providing thrilling action and chances to win exciting prizes on both nights.

On Saturday, August 5th, the rodeo excitement spills over into the heart of Minden with a rodeo parade down Main Street. Commencing at 10:00 AM, this parade will be a vibrant display of Western heritage and the spirit of the rodeo, delighting spectators of all ages.
