Celebrating 16 years in its pursuit of preserving Webster Parish history, the Dorcheat Museum held its annual gala on the evening of Monday, September 11. The theme was “Lights, Camera, Action, and Auction!,” drawing inspiration from popular movies and TV Shows.
This event serves as one of the main fundraising opportunities with the live auction, this year, being conducted by Richard Campbell and Tracey Campbell. Including entry costs, auctioned items, and donations, the Dorcheat Museum was able to raise approximately $18,000 from this year’s gala.
Mrs. Becky Marvin was the high bidder on patriotic quilts pieced by Mrs. Lyda Madden and hand-quilted by Mrs. Nona Sale. The winner of the raffle for the Steel Magnolias gift basket was Ty Pendergrass.
“I would like to thank those who attended, contributed items, or sent donations. This annual fundraiser is vital to the continued operation of the museum. Their very generous support provides the foundation for us to move forward into the next year,” said Executive Director Jessica Gorman of the Dorcheat Museum.
