The North Webster Knights got back in the win column with a 21-13 victory over the Carroll Bulldogs Friday night at Baucum-Farrar Stadium.
North Webster, which had lost two in a row, improved to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in District 1-3A. Carroll fell to 3-4 and 0-4.
The Knights scored all three of their touchdowns in the first half.
Jkobe Lawson scored two rushing touchdowns and Braedon Robertson had one.
North Webster led 21-7 at the half. It stayed that way going into the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs scored a late touchdown for the final margin.
The Knights defense turned in an outstanding performance. Xavier “Tut” McGlothan continued to make his presence felt with a pair of interceptions.
McGlothan also had a kick return for a touchdown erased by a penalty.
The Knights avenged a 49-7 loss to Carroll last season in Monroe.
So far, North Webster has avenged four of its eight losses in the 2022 regular season.
The Knights will have a chance for a fifth when they travel to Sterlington Friday.
The Panthers (6-1, 4-0) knocked off defending district champ Union Parish 24-10 Friday night. Sterlington has won six straight. The Panthers have a half-game lead over Wossman (6-1, 3-0).
Union Parish (4-3, 2-1) is third followed by North Webster.
According to GeauxPreps.com, North Webster is No. 14 in the non-select Division III power ratings and is virtually assured of returning to the playoffs after a one-year absence.
The top 28 in the final ratings make the playoffs. The top four teams receive first-round byes. The No. 5-16 teams host first-round games.
North Caddo 42, Lakeside 24: At Vivian, the Warriors got their offense going in the first half and led 24-22. But the Titans dominated the second.
Lakeside dropped to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in District 1-2A. North Caddo improved to 2-5 and 1-1.
The Warriors ended a two-game scoring drought in the first half.
Eli Santalices, Jordan Case and Ken Miller all scored rushing touchdowns.
Lakeside was also 3-for-3 on two-point conversion attempts.
Head Coach Michael Santalices said injuries have taken their toll on his team and the number of healthy players is now in the 20s.
Lakeside visits Loyola College Prep Friday. The Flyers (2-4, 1-1) lost to D’Arbonne Woods 35-14 Friday night.
