Lakeside High School Students Shine in VFW Voice of Democracy Contest

Lakeside Jr./Sr. High School is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of two of its students, Alyssa Chang and Madison McGraw, in the recent Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Voice of Democracy contest. Alyssa and Madison showcased their exceptional talents and dedication, securing top honors at both the local and regional levels of the competition.

In the Webster Parish leg of the competition, Alyssa Chang captured the 1st place title, while Madison McGraw secured the 2nd place spot, showcasing their remarkable oratorical skills and insightful perspectives on this year’s theme. Their outstanding performances exemplified their commitment to honoring veterans and promoting patriotism through their speeches.

Following their success at the parish level, Alyssa Chang continued to impress as she advanced to the regional competition. Despite facing stiff competition from talented participants across the region, Alyssa’s eloquence and passion for her topic earned her the 2nd place distinction, further highlighting her exceptional abilities as a communicator and advocate.
