Serena Gray, executive director of the Webster Parish Convention and Visitors Commission (WPCVC), has announced her resignation. Gray has served as the executive director for the past six years, leading the Commission through a period of growth and innovation. Gray has accepted a position as vice president of marketing and communications for Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “The opportunity aligns very well with the progression of my career development,” said Gray. Her last day will be July 26.

During Gray’s tenure, the WPCVC has seen remarkable achievements in community engagement, creative initiatives, and development projects that have bolstered Webster Parish’s reputation as a top tourism destination. Under Gray’s leadership, numerous successful campaigns and events have been launched, contributing to a thriving tourism sector and increased visibility for Webster Parish.

“It has been a wonderful adventure of development, creativity, and community engagement,” said Gray. “I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support from the board, our team, and the community. Together, we have accomplished so much, and I am confident that the Commission will continue to reach new heights.”

“We have so many people in good positions right now to move us forward. There are definitely some wonderful people here who can fulfill this role and carry on what we’ve started,” said Gray.

The board of directors expressed its gratitude to Gray. “We are deeply appreciative of Serena’s contributions to the Commission and the community. Her efforts have left an indelible mark on Webster Parish, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” said Ty Pendergrass, WPCVC chairman. The WPCVC will begin the search for an executive director immediately.

While Gray looks forward to the new challenges this opportunity will bring, she remembers with great fondness all the people she has worked with in Minden. “It’s definitely bittersweet,” she said.
