With the first day of school just around the corner, Webster Parish’s newest educators received a warm community welcome Tuesday morning during the Greater Minden Chamber’s annual New Teacher Breakfast at the J.E. Harper Pathways to Excellence Center.
The event brought together teachers beginning their careers in Webster Parish Schools for the 2026-27 academic year, providing an opportunity to meet district leaders, school administrators and community partners before students return to the classroom.
Breakfast was prepared by Brickstreet Coffee and presented by Bonvenu Bank, with support from numerous local businesses and organizations that partnered with the chamber to welcome the district’s newest educators.
Webster Parish Schools Superintendent Johnny Rowland welcomed the incoming teachers before introducing principals, administrators and key personnel from schools across the parish. Throughout the morning, educators learned about district procedures, expectations and resources designed to help prepare them for the upcoming school year.
In addition to receiving important information about the district, teachers had the opportunity to meet fellow educators and begin building relationships with the administrators and staff they will work alongside throughout the year.
Representatives from local businesses and community organizations were also on hand to welcome the new teachers, underscoring the community’s continued support for public education in Webster Parish. Attendees received welcome bags and materials provided by event sponsors.
The annual breakfast serves as one of the first opportunities for new teachers to connect with both school leaders and the local business community before the school year begins. The Greater Minden Chamber hosts the event each year as part of its ongoing partnership with Webster Parish Schools to help welcome educators to the parish.
