The Piney Hills Louisiana Master Gardeners will host the 2025 “Trails & Trellises: A Garden Tour” on Saturday, April 26, from 9 AM to 3 PM, rain or shine.

The annual event will feature four private gardens in Minden and Homer, each offering unique displays of spring flora, landscape design, and garden artistry. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $10 from any Master Gardener or through the Webster Parish Extension Office or Claiborne Parish Extension Office. Tickets will also be available for $12 on the day of the tour at any participating garden.

Pam and Freddie Gruner’s garden at 1155 Alvin Miller Road in Minden has been cultivated over 40 years and includes spring blooms, whimsical décor, and a new native rock water feature. A wide variety of perennials and bulbs will be available for sale at this location.

In Homer, three gardens will be open to visitors. The garden of Jimmy and Lynn May at 150 May Lane features heirloom plants, butterfly gardens, and wooded trails surrounding a pond.

Patti and Tommy Bourne’s property at 12990 Hwy 9 offers vibrant flower beds and hanging fern pots. Antique car enthusiasts can view a collection of vintage cars displayed in a nearby barn.

Janice Plummer’s garden at 289 Coleman Loop is described as a lakeside oasis with hydrangeas, azaleas, roses, and tropical plants. The area features a rose garden, potted exotics, and expansive spaces for relaxing among nature.
