Baseball: Minden routs Bearden, Ark., on first day of North Webster tournament

The Minden Crimson Tide routed Bearden, Ark., 15-0 in five innings Thursday on the first day of the North Webster tournament in Springhill.

Minden pounded out 19 hits and limited Bearden to two.

Andrew Cooper went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI.  Price Miller went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. 

Brandon Winston also went 3-for-3.

Jakobe Jackson went 3-for-4 with a double. Brody Bower and Elliott Sheppard had two hits each.

Jackson got the win. He struck out 10 and walked none.

Minden (6-4) is scheduled to play Fouke, Ark., at 6 p.m. Friday and Bradley, Ark., at noon Saturday.

Lakeside was scheduled to play Fouke and North Webster was scheduled to play Bradley in the other two games Thursday night.
