Bearkats’ size, speed proves too much for Lakeside

After christening new head coach Mike Santelices’ arrival with an opening-week win last Friday, the second game of the season proved a bit more difficult as Lakeside fell to Bossier 69-26 on Friday night in Sibley.

“Bossier is much better this season,” Santelices said. “They have a bunch of new guys. They were just bigger and faster at a lot of positions, and we didn’t help ourselves out a lot.”

Jordan Preuett was 12-for-28 for 181 yards. C.J. Anderson caught four catches for 44 yards to lead the Warriors.

“You have to pick up and move on,” Santelices said. “If you don’t, it will just keep turning out in losses. We have to be positive and regroup.”

Lakeside (1-1) plays at Mangham this Friday at 7 p.m.

“Mangham is very well-coached. They switch it up every play,” Santelices said. “It will be a good matchup.”
