After three decades of dedicated service to the community, the owners of Harris’ Corner, Mr. Larry and Ms. Kay Gipson, have announced their retirement, marking the end of an era for the beloved neighborhood store.
In a heartfelt letter addressed to valued customers, family, and friends, the Gipsons expressed mixed emotions as they bid farewell to their cherished establishment. “When we first opened our doors, we never imagined the incredible journey that awaited us,” they wrote. “We have had the privilege of watching families grow, sharing in your daily lives, and becoming a part of the fabric of this neighborhood.”
Reflecting on the memories and friendships cultivated over the years, the Gipsons conveyed their deep gratitude to the community for their unwavering loyalty and support. “Your loyalty and support have been the foundation of our success, and we are truly blessed to have had such wonderful customers,” they expressed.
While Harris’ Corner will not be closing its doors permanently, February 29, 2024, will mark the Gipsons’ final day operating the store. They extended an invitation to the community to stop by and bid them farewell during their remaining days of operation.
Despite the sadness of saying goodbye, the Gipsons also expressed excitement for the new chapter ahead in retirement. “Retirement will allow us to spend more time with our loved ones and pursue new adventures,” they shared. “But we will always hold dear the memories of this special place and all of you.”
