Funeral services for Bobby (BJ, Boomer) McDaniel will be held Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with Bro. Richard Methvin officiating and Bro. Rick Gerlock assisting. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Bobby was born Aug. 11, 1952 in Ben Hur, Texas and went to be with his Lord on Nov. 3, 2016. He was an active member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, an Army Veteran, and retired after 35 yrs. with Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the Dallas and Minden Masonic Lodges, Minden Eastern Star, and C& W. hunting club.
Bobby loved to hunt, fish, and have a good time with family and friends. He was famous for his smiles and “bear hugs”. He never met a stranger and loved all the people he met. Bobby was a blessing to everyone who knew him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Malcolm and Ollie McDaniel, brothers, Malcolm Jr, Raydell and Jerry McDaniel.
Left to cherish his memories are wife, Brenda McDaniel, son Jay Chapman (Jennifer), extended daughter Petra Sitterberg (Johannes) and extended son, James Landers, sisters, Linda Kroll (Jr.), Darlene Komar, Judy Tittle (Woody), and Jane Nix and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Tittle, Carl Brogdon, C. J. Brogdon, Tatum Terral, Gus Hamdan, and Mark Prunty.
The family extends special thanks to Aime Hospice Care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 Park Hwy, Minden, Louisiana.
