The Dixie Inn Police Department’s annual Boo with the Blue Halloween celebration drew numerous children and families to McClanahan Park on Saturday, October 31, with attendance far surpassing last year’s event.
Dixie Inn Police Chief Jeffrey McNeill said significantly more children attended this year’s celebration than last year’s, and he hopes to see the event continue growing each year.
The family-friendly gathering offered children an opportunity to collect Halloween treats, show off their costumes, and spend time with friends and neighbors while interacting with local law enforcement.
Children dressed as everything from spooky Halloween characters to superheroes and princesses filled the park, enjoying their candy while playing together and admiring one another’s creative costumes.
Despite rain clouds earlier in the day, the weather cooperated, providing a pleasant fall evening for the festivities.
Boo with the Blue is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community while providing a safe, welcoming environment for local families.
With another successful celebration completed and attendance continuing to increase, McNeill hopes Boo with the Blue will become an even bigger Halloween tradition in Dixie Inn in the years ahead.
