A Bossier City woman was arrested Friday, May 15, after police said she attempted to leave Walmart with more than $1,300 in unpaid merchandise and was later found in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
According to a Minden Police Department report, officers responded to Walmart in the 1300 block of Homer Road in reference to a theft complaint.
Upon arrival, officers met with Walmart loss prevention personnel, who stated another loss prevention officer observed Tequilla Sellers, 32, placing merchandise into a bag while in the store’s clearance aisle.
Loss prevention officers then reported watching Sellers purchase a variety box of chips before passing all points of sale with the remaining merchandise still inside her shopping cart.
Store personnel detained Sellers and escorted her to the loss prevention office, where officers recovered 41 unpaid items with a total value of $1,377.40, according to the report.
Police advised Sellers of her rights and transported her to the Minden Police Department for booking.
During a search of Sellers’ belongings at the jail, officers reportedly discovered a red coin purse inside her wallet containing a small pink plastic bag with suspected methamphetamine. The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 1.499 grams, according to police.
Authorities said Sellers has a prior misdemeanor theft conviction in Caddo Parish from July 31, 2025, and was also arrested on a misdemeanor theft charge in Caddo Parish on May 1, 2026.
Sellers was booked on charges of felony theft and possession of Schedule II controlled dangerous substances.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
