Buds & Blooms 2025 to support 4-H gardening, scholarships

The Piney Hills Louisiana Master Gardeners will host the 2025 Buds & Blooms event on Saturday, February 22, at First Methodist Church, 903 Broadway in Minden. The annual gardening event will raise funds for the 4-H Youth Gardening Contest and 4-H scholarships.

Admission is $15, with registration beginning at 8:30 AM. The event will feature a series of lectures from 9 AM to noon, with presentations from gardening and wildlife experts.

Speakers include Kathy Cropper, owner of Red Blooms, who will present “Use What You Have”; John Dillon, birder and educator, discussing “Hummingbirds”; and Dr. Ron Strahan of the LSU Ag Center, who will cover “Weed Management in Landscapes.”

Attendees will also have the chance to participate in a raffle, featuring a Halo product giveaway, and enjoy great food and door prizes throughout the event.
