The 2026 Buds & Blooms gardening program hosted by the Piney Hills Louisiana Master Gardeners on Saturday, February 28, drew a large crowd to First Methodist Church in Minden.
The annual event featured a morning lecture series focused on popular gardening topics, including “Wildflowers,” “Lasagna Gardening” and “Fertilizers & Pesticides.” Guest speakers John Michael Kelly, Dalorie Moller and Mitzi Thomas shared information and practical advice with attendees.
In addition to the lectures, guests had the opportunity to purchase potted bulbs and enjoy refreshments. Door prizes and a raffle were also part of the event. This year’s featured raffle item was a 3-foot by 6-foot raised planter with 10 bags of soil.
Proceeds from Buds & Blooms will be used to support 4-H youth gardening projects and scholarships.
