A 38-year-old man was arrested February 22 following a reported disturbance in the 200 block of Miller Street, according to a Minden Police Department report.
An officer responding to the call observed Carlos Jackson with his foot inside the doorway of an apartment while a woman attempted to push him out. Jackson was detained at the scene and appeared to be intoxicated, police said.
During the investigation, officers determined Jackson had thrown a 25-ounce Michelob Infusion beer bottle through an apartment window, causing glass to land on the woman as she slept on a couch. The woman sustained visible cuts to her legs from the broken glass but declined medical treatment.
Police said the woman reported Jackson forced his way into the residence, pulled her hair and choked her while she was on the couch. She told officers Jackson was not invited to her home and that the two had been in an on-and-off relationship for approximately three years. She signed a complaint affidavit and statement indicating she wished to pursue charges.
Jackson was advised of his rights and transported to the police department for booking. According to the report, Jackson later admitted to throwing the beer bottle in an attempt to hit the woman.
Jackson was charged with home invasion, disturbing the peace by intoxication and simple criminal damage to property.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
