Funeral services for C. Alton Humphrey will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Beech Springs Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Ronnie Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends Saturday one- hour prior service.

Alton was born May 5, 1928 in Cotton Valley, Louisiana and entered into rest October 11, 2018 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He served his country in the United States Air Force, was retired from KCS Railway, a mason, and a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church. Alton will be missed by everyone who called him “Pappy”.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Walter C. and Gladys Humphrey, in-laws; W.A. (Bill) Miller and Iva Lee Miller, and sister; Maudine Tucker.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years; Dorothy Miller Humphrey, sons; Terry Humphrey (Sheryl) and Leslie Humphrey (Ann Marie), daughter; Donna Strickland (Allan), sister; Faye Lindsay (Ray), brothers; Walter A. Humphrey (Odessa), Tommy Humphrey (Debbie), and Clifton Humphrey (Barbara), brother-in-law; Billy Miller, grandchildren; Matt Humphrey (Stephanie), Zach Willis (Kassie), Jacob Strickland, Sydney Strickland, Toby Gaines (Lacy), Carla Humphrey, and Tana Humphrey, and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons; Matt Humphrey, Zach Willis, Jacob Strickland, Toby Gaines, Chance Whitlock, and Ryland Barnes.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gideons.
