Caney Lakes Day Use Recreation Area Closes Seasonally September 7

Minden, LA, August 23, 2021 — Caney Lakes Day Use Recreation Area will close for the

2021 season on September 7th, the day after Labor Day. The following facilities will be closed during this seasonal closure: swim area, ski beach area, and volleyball court. The day use recreation area will reopen next year on Memorial Day weekend, May 28, 2022.

Fishing, camping, boating, and hiking the Sugar Cane National Recreation Trail may still be enjoyed at Caney Lakes throughout the year. For more information, please contact the Caney Ranger District Office at (318) 927-2061.
