Service for Casine Timmons Carter will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sheppard Street Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Clarence Rice. The family will receive friends at Kennon Mortuary from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for those in Minden and from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for those in Shreveport.

Casine was born July 3, 1936, in Minden, Louisiana, and entered into rest September 2, 2020, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Casine’s parents were Mr. Alex and Mrs. Rochelle Timmons.  She joined New Light Baptist Church at an early age. Graduated from Webster High School, 1954 in Minden; attended Bethune College, obtained a degree in Cosmetology, received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Grambling State University.  She moved to Shreveport, united with Mt. Chapel Baptist Church, and taught in Caddo Parish Public School System, retired after thirty years of service.                                 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Carter, one sister, Johnnie Mae Herod, two brothers, Erie and Joe Reather Timmons.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Sue Sterling Carter, five grandchildren, Jemarico, Leonardo, Jr., Timbra,  Kevin and Evan Carter,  Special Cousin Gatha Smith, a number of other cousins and friends.
