Catherine Kennon Terrell was born Jan. 17, 1923 in Webster Parish to the late Cal Kennon and Mable Jackson Kennon. She was one of 10 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Kennon.
Catherine Kennon united in holy matrimony with Alvin Terrell who preceded her in death.
Sis. Terrell accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Calm Baptist Church for over 70 years.
Mrs. Terrell was a retired educator of the Webster Parish School System.
Catherine departed this life on July 2, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Dorothy Kennon Anderson and Effie Kennon Owens; and six brothers, L. C. Kennon, Elbert Kennon, Judge Kennon, James Kennon, Lee Artis Kennon, and Dewey Kennon.
Catherine K. Terrell leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Truezella Kennon Barker; nieces, Selma Dillard, Cynthia Moore, Michelle Dillard-Wayne, and Stephanie Jackson; nephews, Larry Jordan, Stephen Kennon, Gary Kennon, Gregory Kennon, and Kevin Kennon; a very special niece, Darielle “Bianca” Moore and her children, Mychaela, McKenzie, and Mekhi and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 11 at Mt. Calm Baptist Church with Pastor T. A. Knapp, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Sheppard Street Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, July 10, in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary.
