Chamber issues statement on Fibrebond issue

by Minden Press-Herald

Fibrebond is a tremendous asset to our Greater Minden area. Not only are they known worldwide for continually innovating the manufacturing sector, but around here they are known as a company who treats their employees like family and are always willing to give back to the community.

Struggles and setbacks are also not new to this company. They have faced many a trials since moving to Minden in 1984, but they always manage to come back bigger and stronger. The Walker family is a true example of how having an entrepreneurial spirit and vision can turn into the “American Dream”. They have been able to provide a comfortable livelihood for hundreds of local families over the years, and we hope to see this continue for years to come.

Reading the letter Mr. Walker sent his employees about a potential relocation is disheartening, to say the least. The Greater Minden Chamber will do whatever we can to make sure we do not lose this crucial piece of our economy. We have been in contact with our local legislation and partners in Baton Rouge to offer our support and assistance. We encourage each of you to do the same. We do not intend to sit idle. We want the Fibrebond family to know that we appreciate you and the work you do, and want you to continue doing business right here in the Greater Minden community.
