Christmas in Minden returns December 12–14 with a full schedule of downtown activities, beginning with the annual tree lighting ceremony at City Hall at 5:30 PM on December 12. The weekend celebration, presented by Gibsland Bank & Trust, features family events, shopping, tours and the community Christmas parade.
Events open earlier that day with the Christmas Open House at Gibsland Bank & Trust on Homer Road from 10AM to 2PM. The Germantown Colony Museum will host its holiday program December 12–13 from 1PM to 4PM, offering museum tours, cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and photos with a special elf. Admission is free.
Downtown activities expand Friday evening with the 3rd Annual Downtown Minden Wine Walk from 5PM to 9PM, sponsored by The Minden Foundation and Minden Family Dental. The Presents on Pearl Vendor Market will run concurrently from 5PM to 9PM on Pearl Street, giving shoppers access to local and regional vendors.
The Holiday Trail of Lights Hay Ride, hosted by Visit Webster Parish, will operate from 6PM to 9PM on December 12. The free ride will take passengers through decorated areas of downtown.
Festivities continue December 13 with the Presents on Pearl Vendor Market from 11AM to 6PM and a second day of events at the Germantown Colony Museum from 1PM to 4PM.
The Minden Christmas Parade, billed as “A Hometown Christmas Parade,” will roll through downtown at 5PM on December 13.
The weekend concludes December 14 with the Christmas Tour of Homes from 1PM to 6PM, hosted by Visit Webster Parish.
The Christmas in Minden weekend has become a tradition many residents look forward to each year as they gather downtown to enjoy seasonal activities and share in the Christmas spirit.
