The City of Minden is looking towards the future in upgrading its electric and water meter reading system.
After a unanimous vote during Monday’s city council meeting, the council agreed to ask for requests for proposals on the system.

Drug pushers abound but somehow “click it or ticket” is a priority. I’m always in awe of the crimes law enforcement around here attempt to pursue. There are neighborhoods in the area where you couldn’t throw a rock without hitting a dealer or someone on drugs but we pay officers to sit and stare at vehicles looking to write a ticket to someone going about their business with no seat belt on…. sad days in America. This same article mentions ticket revenue and thats really all this is about, an easy source of revenue from the working citizens. Great job guys.

Adding electronic reading to the water meters would be great also. When I lived in Minden I often enjoyed getting an electric bill where the reading was guessed because we had dogs and the reader had to either come inside the fence or find something to stand on to see over the six foot privacy fence.
