Minden is honoring two-time Super Bowl champion L’Jarius Sneed with a celebration on March 2.
The celebration includes a parade at 11 a.m. followed by a noon ceremony at the Minden Rec Center.
After the ceremony, there will be autograph signing, food and kids’ bounce houses.
Sneed, a former Minden and Louisiana Tech star, helped the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime in Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas.
The Chiefs became the first back-to-back champions since the New England Patriots in 2003 and 2004.
Sneed, a cornerback, played a big role in the Chiefs’ success throughout the season. In Kansas City’s 17-10 victory over Baltimore in the AFC Championship Game, he forced a fumble at the Chiefs’ 1-yard line, saving a touchdown.
Sneed has played four seasons for Chiefs and competed in three Super Bowls.
After last year’s title, Minden honored Sneed with a parade.
He also participated in the 318 Takeover Youth Camp in Shreveport along with many other current and former NFL stars from the area.
Following that, he conducted a camp at Minden High in July.
