The annual display of oversized Community Christmas Cards is taking shape under the downtown water tower as preparations for the holiday season continue.
The Greater Minden Chamber announced that the large wooden cards are being installed. “Keep an eye out over the next week as the area around the water tower starts to look a little more festive! We are LOVING the creativity we’re seeing!” the Chamber said in a social media post.
Minden Main Street also encouraged businesses, organizations and schools to participate in the display, which is part of the larger Christmas in Minden celebration. The program offers a way to showcase messages to the thousands of vehicles and visitors that travel through the downtown area during the season.
Two awards will be presented: Best in Show with a $150 cash prize and People’s Choice with a $100 cash prize. A limited number of spaces are available.
