Miller Quarters Park was filled with food and music Monday evening as residents gathered for the latest installment of Bites & Beats.
This was one of the better attended Bites & Beats so far, with families and friends enjoying time together over a wide selection of food and live entertainment. Children got to run around and play while adults mingled, sampled the food, and relaxed in the park atmosphere.
Vendors served a range of crowd favorites — everything from tacos to Italian ice and from lemonade to daiquiris.
Musical entertainment was provided by Haley Brooke, a Shreveport native and soul singer-songwriter known for her smooth, easy listening sound. Brooke delivered a well-received performance that added to the evening’s warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Bites & Beats will continue as a recurring community event, shifting to the third Thursday of each month starting in July and running through October. Organizers encourage residents to mark their calendars for future dates as a great way to spend time with family and friends in downtown Minden.
