The 34th Annual Country Showdown is coming to Minden tonight.
Real Country 104.5 FM KBEF will be hosting America’s largest country music talent search and radio promotion 7 p.m. at the Minden Community House, located at at 711 Gladney St. Admission is free for the event and doors open at 6 p.m.
Eight contestants will be competing for the local title in Minden: Cheridy Adams, Travis Chapman, Kenzie Ellington, Ciara Gibson, London McIver, Kelly Nicole, No Name Drive and Ole Whiskey Revival. The winner will advance to the state contest, where prizes include $1,000 in cash and the opportunity to receive an expense-paid trip to the national final to compete for $100,000 and the coveted national title of “Best New Act in Country Music.”
The local competition was made possible by the help of local businesses such as Webster Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau, Gibsland Bank and Trust, Crawfish Hole #2, Red River Chevrolet, Elm St. Dental, Richland State Bank and Hol-Mont Sales and Rental.
