Crash causes power outage down Homer road

by Minden Press-Herald

City crews spent the day working to replace a power pole that was broken Tuesday morning after an SUV hit it. Power was out to nearly half the businesses on Homer Road, including traffic lights, as crews worked to replace the lines near Goodwill Industries and O’Reilly’s. Minden Police say around 9 a.m. a female driver hit the pole after experiencing a medical emergency while driving. As of press time, the name or the condition of the driver has not been released, although police believe the medical situation was not life threatening. Crews say power was back on mid-afternoon.
