Wreck occurred Sunday morning on Middle Road
A Sunday morning crash led to the arrest of a Middle Road man on drug and DWI charges.
Bryan Hilton, 35, was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on charges of DWI second offense, careless operation, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation.
Around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, deputy John Lewis was dispatched to the 400 block of Middle Road after a single-vehicle crash was reported.
When the deputy arrived, Hilton was shaking and had slurred speech, according to the arrest affidavit.
Inside the car, the deputy reportedly found a bag with five unused syringes and one used syringe. Also in the bag was a set of digital scales, a metal spoon with suspected meth residue on it and a suspected marijuana pipe.
Hilton reportedly told deputies the bag was his.
A suspected meth pipe with suspected meth residue was also located in the car.
Hilton was then booked on the above charges and the warrant for the probation violation.
He was transported to the patrol office to perform a standard field sobriety test, which he refused, the report said.
He also reportedly refused to provide a blood and urine sample.
After being processed, he was transported to BDCC.
Editor’s note: A booking photo of Hilton was not available as of press time.
