The Minden Crimson Tide were back on the football field for the first day of spring practice Monday afternoon.
The Tide appeared eager for action and showed plenty of spirit throughout a light practice which lasted just under three hours.
The arrival of spring football provided a welcomed distraction from recent events surrounding Minden’s home stadium, The Pit.
W.W. Williams Stadium’s home-side grandstands have been condemned, which sparked a lively conversation between concerned citizens, school administrators and students about what would happen for May’s senior graduation ceremony. In the long term, it’s uncertain whether the Tide will play home games this season in The Pit.
The Tide should field one of 4A’s better teams, with 16 starters back from a team that went 9-3 in 2015.
