Cullen man jailed on attempted murder charge

A Cullen man was arrested for Attempted First Degree Murder after weeks of searching by police. 

According to the Cullen Police Department, an altercation occurred at the Cullen Square Apartments on January 22 between Rontavious Eason and another man. As the man approached Eason, Eason produced a firearm and shot the victim.  The bullet entered through the victim’s thigh and exited through his foot. 

Rontavious Eason, 29, of the 100 block of North Burnham Street in Cullen was arrested for Attempted First Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Illegal Use of a Weapon on Monday, February 25. Eason was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. Bond was set at $700,000.
