Webster Parish authorities are investigating after a decomposed body was discovered Sunday afternoon in a wooded area north of Minden.
Sheriff Jason Parker said investigators believe the remains are those of a white male, but no identification was found on or near the body. Due to the extreme summer temperatures, identification has been difficult. Investigators estimate the person had been in the area for approximately five to six days.
No missing persons reports currently filed in Webster Parish are believed to match the individual, according to the sheriff’s office.
The body was transported to Little Rock, Arkansas, for an autopsy. The examination is expected to help investigators determine the person’s identity and cause of death.
