Rendi Dillard, a teacher at Lakeside Junior/Senior High School, was recognized as the Webster Parish School Board’s May Employee of the Month during the board’s regular meeting Monday, May 4, at the school board office.
The recognition was presented by Kevin Thompson of Taylor and Sons as part of the board’s monthly employee appreciation program.
In a letter of recommendation read during the meeting, Dillard was commended for her commitment to students, coworkers, and the overall success of Lakeside Junior/Senior High School.
“Coach Dillard is the definition of dedication and selflessness,” the letter stated. “No matter what is asked of her — whether it falls under her job description or not — she steps up without hesitation.”
The recommendation noted that Dillard regularly assists colleagues and gives exceptional effort in the classroom.
“You’ll often find her quietly assisting her colleagues with both big and small tasks, always ready to lend a helping hand,” the letter stated. “For her students, she gives nothing less than 110%, pouring her heart into everything she does in the classroom.”
Dillard was further praised for her reliability and willingness to go beyond expectations.
“She rarely misses a day of work, and her commitment shows in the ways she consistently arrives early and stays late,” the letter stated. “This teacher wears many hats — far beyond those she was hired to wear — and yet she carries each role with grace, positivity, and a can-do attitude.”
School officials also highlighted Dillard’s transition into a new role during the current semester.
“Coach Dillard has stepped into a new role this semester, performing in the position exceptionally well,” the letter stated. “From the outset, she embraced the opportunity without hesitation and has approached her new responsibilities with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong commitment to our school community.”
According to the recommendation, Dillard has already made a measurable difference in that role by supporting both students and faculty while helping foster a productive environment on campus.
“Coach Dillard’s efforts have not gone unnoticed, and her contributions are greatly appreciated,” the letter stated. “She is a valuable asset to Lakeside Junior/Senior High School, and we are grateful for the leadership, dedication, and positive influence she brings to this position.”
The Webster Parish School Board meets on the first Monday of each month, and meetings are open to the public.
