Domestic Dispute Gets Heated with Torch

by Minden Press-Herald

Webster Parish Deputies were dispatched in regards to a disturbance taking place on the 200 block of Horseshoe Bridge Road in Doyline. The disturbance was domestic in nature, and involved a young adult named, Jason Hillman, 18, and his grandparents.

Hillman, who was living with his grandparents at the residence, and the booking report states the dispute started when, “Jason became angry and mad and started cussing…

“The Grandfather told Jason to leave, and Jason pushed [the grandfather].”

At this point, Hillman went to the lower floor of the property. “Jason went downstairs and got a yellow propane torch and lit the torch. Jason came up to [the grandfather] and threatened to burn him with the torch if he did not move,” the report stated.

The report doesn’t clearly state how the conflict got resolved, but it doesn’t mention any injuries being sustained on the grandfather’s behalf, and does state that Hillman has been charged with domestic abuse battery, and simple assault. He was later transported to BDCC for booking.
