Funeral services for Donnis Ward Taylor will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Minden in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Leland Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.
Donnis was born June 16, 1936 in Norphlett, Arkansas and entered into rest June 18, 2019 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a member of First Baptist Church Minden where she taught Sunday school for 35 years. Donnis received her PhD and taught English in the Webster Parish School System for 30 years and was the sponsor for the Louisi-Annes for 20 years. She was an English professor at SAU for 25 years. She was a past member of the Young Women’s Service Club of Minden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melton and Kate Ward and husband, Robert H. “Sonny” Taylor.
She is survived by her son Robert H. “Bobby” Taylor, Jr. and wife Lisa of Minden, daughter, Kimberly Ann Robbins and husband Billy of Minden, brother, James M. Ward of Louisville, Kentucky, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
