The Dorcheat Historical Association and Museum, Inc. will hold its first Night at the Museum speaker event of 2026 on Monday, March 9th at 6:00pm at the museum located at 116 Pearl Street in Minden. This event will feature Brian Davis, Executive Director of the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation. Come learn about the important work they do to support historic preservation across the state of Louisiana.
In 2025, the Louisiana Trust was awarded the Trustees’ Award for Organizational Excellence from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Their work includes the Louisiana Register of Historic Cemeteries, the Great Flood Project, Most Endangered Places, and Rosenwald Schools. Each year, the Louisiana Trust hosts the Louisiana Preservation Conference as well as Spring & Fall Rambles that highlight the history and historic preservation of the different regions of the state.

Admission to the museum is free and donations are encouraged. Doors open at 5:30pm. Pot luck snacks and desserts. Seating is limited.
