The Dorcheat Soil and Water Conservation District will award one scholarship to a high school graduating senior in Webster Parish/Dorcheat SWCD who is planning to enter an institution of higher learning within the State of Louisiana as a full-time undergraduate student in the field of science, this includes medical science. This would include a Louisiana college, university, jr. college or technical college. The amount of the cash award is $500.00. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support to broaden the educational opportunities for a deserving student.
A check from Dorcheat SWCD will be presented to the student after receiving proof of the student completing their first quarter or semester of college or proof of registration for the next quarter or semester. The check will be made payable to the student. Another $500.00 award will be presented to students after the first quarter/semester with grade point average of 3.0 or better.
