HEFLIN – Funeral services for Doris B. Logan, 89, of Heflin will be held Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Bistineau Baptist Church in Heflin under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold. Officiating will be her grandson, the Rev. Keith Taylor and the Rev. Wayne Reeves. Burial will follow in Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin. Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 from 9 until 11 a.m. at Bistineau Baptist Church.
Doris was born Aug. 25, 1927 in Center, Texas and went to be with her Lord Oct. 7, 2016 in Shreveport. She was a lifelong, faithful member of Bistineau Baptist Church where she loved to visit and help her church family. Doris worked at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant during WWII. She later worked at West Brothers Department Store, Bell Telephone Company and the Webster Parish School Board Office. Doris loved to garden and always had beautiful plants. She also found pleasure in hunting and fishing. Everyone will miss her cooking, especially her dressing and her pies. She was always energetic and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olen Darius and Norma Pate Wilson; husband, Charles Logan; and sisters, Dean Chandler and Patsy Paul.
Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Barbara Colley and husband, David of Luling, and Charlene Taylor of Heflin; sisters, Virginia Bailey and husband, David of Heflin and Linda Hulion and husband, Bobby of Heflin; grandchildren, April D. Colley, Charles David Colley, Anna Christine Alford, Keith Wayne Taylor and Rachel Taylor Curet; great-grandchildren, Justin Dempster, Emma Lee Selman, Amanda Selman, Christopher David Colley, Claire Elitia Colley, Brandon Alford, Anna Bella Alford, Anna Michelle Taylor, James Logan Taylor, William Edward Taylor and Luke Wayne Taylor
